Nagapattinam is on the eastern coast of Tamil Nadu and has its headquarters in Nagapattinam which is an important port in the state. The two famous temples here are, one dedicated to Nataraja and another to Neelayathatchi Amman. The town also connects two famous centers of pilgrimage that is Velankanni and Nagaore.
